Cancer Screening and Older Adults - Deep Dive

NICE Aging in Canada Podcast

Take a deeper dive and listen to a conversation on our Information Tool: Cancer Screening and Older Adults.

Cancer screening aims to detect cancers at high risk of spreading if left untreated, identifying them before they advance. A cancer screening test is conducted when there are no signs or symptoms of cancer present. The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care provides cancer screening guidelines for both patients and providers to aid in the cancer screening decision-making process.

You can access the companion NICE Information Tool on our website at: https://www.nicenet.ca/articles/cancer-screening-and-older-adults. The online Information Tool  provides related links to videos, infographics, and a printable version. The National Initiative for Care of the Elderly (NICE) has developed a series of information tools derived from research studies that focus on understanding the challenges people face as they age. The research for these information tools is conducted manually, while their distribution utilizes AI-based technologies for generating audio and images.
