    Celebrating Our Limitations

    Celebrating Our Limitations

I unintentionally took three weeks off of releasing new episodes for this podcast. It was the right choice each week I chose to “skip” but also really hard on my mental psyche in the midst of the break. Now on the other side of those three weeks, I’m changing my tune and celebrating my limitations and the counter-cultural choices that got me to this episode.

Culture has sold us this “hustle” mentality, especially when starting something new and on your own and especially when it’s “on the side” to whatever you do full-time with your days. It tells us that if we work really hard and work in all the gaps of our time and if we push ourselves now the payoff is freedom in the future. Financial freedom. Schedule freedom. Time freedom.

But what happens when we’re tired?

The reality is, we are human beings, not human doings. And no amount of hustle can help us if we put our head down and barrel on through our limitations until we run ourselves into the ground. Hustle doesn’t help you if you’re dead.

In this episode, we talk about,
The hustle mentality and why I’m calling its bluff The fact that limitations were a part of God’s original design An analogy for juggling many things & knowing which things to drop
And, how our limitations should be celebrated, not loathed.

Being Okay With Being An Amateur

Being Okay With Being An Amateur

In complete honesty, this episode was originally supposed to be about something entirely different. It was scripted to announce a new endeavor that I was planning to launch that would go hand-in-hand with the Celebrate Confidently podcast. The episode changed, and a big part is due to the lesson I’m learning right now. And that is being okay with being an amateur.

Maybe you’re like me and you have many interests. Or maybe you have just a few but they’re ones that you really like to throw yourself into. Or maybe you're someone who has a lot of different skill sets and you've had someone who, with a pure heart, has encouraged you to take whatever you're good at and turn it into profit. I know I’ve said that to others. And I’ve been the recipient of it. “You're good at it. Have you ever thought of doing that for profit?”

In this episode, we talk about,
My personal tale of saying no to a new business opportunity The real definition of “amateur” Annie F. Downs’ latest book, That Sounds Fun An honest look at when hobbies become businesses
And, how not all good things need to be our good things.

Celebrating Reconciliation in Friendship Fallout with Griffin Hill

Celebrating Reconciliation in Friendship Fallout with Griffin Hill

It is not often that you have a major friendship breakup, spend many years apart, and are able to eventually sit across from one another as you process and talk through what went wrong. My friend Griffin graciously joined me for this podcast episode to do just that. A friendship that started in Kindergarten, had one of the most hurtful endings in college, and was able to reconcile, rebuild and reconnect into a dear friend in our adult years.
In this episode, we’re looking at why conflict can arise in friendship, what are unhealthy ways to address conflict, and what potential reconciliation could look like for friends.

    You don’t want to miss:
An honest conversation with two very real and raw perspectives of how a friendship can fall apart and rebuild. Griffin drops fiery truths, such as: “It’s hard to accept that God would allow a friendship that had been really good -- and really fruitful -- for a very long time, to fall apart in order to make us grow into better individuals than we were at that point.” We provide tools for handling friendship conflict and resolution in a rapid-fire format PLUS, our biggest takeaway for pursuing reconciliation in friendships that have suffered conflict.

Party Prepping and Hosting with Small Children

Party Prepping and Hosting with Small Children

Hosting in your home -- whether it’s a small gathering or an organized party -- can present its own challenges. Add in having small children in your home, and under your feet, and it can magnify those challenges ten-fold. As someone who has wanted to be able to raise children who caught as much as they were taught in how to host confidently, lovingly, and without dread, I’ve been paying close attention to other parents in my midst, collecting and piecing together my own game plan of how to go about this in the years to come.
In this episode, we’re covering my top three tips,

Give them a job Get them involved Give yourself time
Plus, one Truth to cling to and derive your confidence from when party prepping and hosting with small children in your home.

We Get To Choose How Others Make Us Feel

We Get To Choose How Others Make Us Feel

In a world that is saturated with messaging like "No one gets to make you feel less about yourself", "Don't let others tell you what you can and can't do", "Haters going to hate," and so on, it all feels really aggressive to the other party. It puts the blame on others for making us feel threatened, less-than or hurt. But we can’t control others or their words. Especially when they’re not intended towards us specifically. Simply put, we get to choose how others make us feel.

In this episode, we’re talking about how our quickness to assume others' words are hurtful towards us can inhibit us from fully celebrating, participating or being included in the beauty of community.

    Celebrating Passion and Purpose

    Celebrating Passion and Purpose

Over the past several years I’ve come to learn how my generation may be missing a key detail of what passion really means.

When I think of what I’m passionate about – what fills me with purpose and excites me – these things come to mind: hospitality, my family, my marriage, friendships, teaching & talking about Jesus, healthy living, and encouraging others.

I would venture to say that you may come by your list similarly. Your passions would be listed by what you love, what fires you up, and what you wish you could devote more time to.

But did you know the word passion originated in Latin, meaning to “suffer”? Passion’s true meaning conveys a monumental love willing to suffer.

    In this episode we discuss,
The real definition of passion My personal experience in finding my true passions How passion and purpose go hand in hand with discomfort and excitement And I leave you with a challenge to help you zero in and find your own passion(s).

Empowering and insightful

Cassie’s podcast has been so sweet for my to start my mornings off with - she is so encouraging and her humility and love for people comes out in each episode. I constantly find myself going back to listen to specific episodes (especially love the bonus ones that come out with different guests) and telling others about how they need to listen. Y’all, this podcast is a GEM! Press play - you will not be disappointed.

Love!!!

Admittedly, I’m not a podcast person, but I started with episode 6 because I needed a little mid-week pick me up and some guidance! The title of the episode definitely drew me in and now I am hooked! Cassie’s voice is so peaceful and her positive attitude is contagious-just what I need in this season of life. I feel so inspired to celebrate my people and myself, despite my own personal setbacks this year. I can’t wait for more!

Encouraging

I love listening to this podcast! I totally relate to Cassie as a recovering people pleaser and perfectionist. I also have a passion for opening my home and loving on Others but I don’t quite have all the creative juices, but Cassie does! I love getting little tricks and tips from her and just really enjoy listening to the joy in her voice!
