Kevin Carr and Gene Call chat with Scott Mossner from HP about Additive Manufacturing.  A great point that Scott brings up is that for additive to be successful a company needs to be committed and one common denominator he sees for success is when a company dedicates a person (champion) to lead their 3D print initiative.  In placing someone who is knowledgeable about Additive Manufacturing in charge – they bring a different thought process to manufacturing that is needed to leverage AM.
