The boardroom at Manchester City in the late 1990s and early 2000s was a fascinating insight into the turmoil going on at the club. While things on the pitch appeared to be going fairly smoothly, as the club bounced back from their lowest ever point in the third tier and back to the Premier League, behind the scenes there was tension and division. In 2019, David Mooney spoke to the former Chief Operating Officer to discuss what was happening at board level at the club at that time - including the divisions the transfer of Robbie Fowler caused.
