Church Jams Now!

The podcast where three former youth group kids and current music nerds deep dive into Christian music of the 90s and 2000s. We revisit records track-by-track, sometimes with the artists who made the records. You’ll also hear artist interviews, Bop 10 song rankings, and more!

Love the podcast it’s my go to delivering beer and alcohol…
Love the idea but too critical.

I love long songs with interludes and outros, albums with continuous themes, and bongos, so I am on the opposite end of so many the takes. Several episodes I have heard contains too much whining about long songs or bongos and the overall attitude is very critical. They generally flop all of my favorite albums for most of the reasons I love them.
Should be titled "Church Jams WOW!"...

...for better synergy with the subject matter, but that's truly my only complaint and I'm so happy that I stumbled across this podcast. CJN! has brought so much joy to my life over the past few weeks remembering some of the most dear albums of my life (mmhmm, New Medicines, etc…) To their credit, TJ, Josh and Kylan tackle this incredibly niche music genre with a wonderful combination of genuine earnestness and a detached levity that is wonderful to listen to… And while they may try to hide it, all three hosts bring insightful music knowledge to the conversation. If you have a fondness for this genre of music and all the cultural joys and failings represented by it, then Church Jams Now is for you!

*in the voice of Gollem* Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
