This week we’re covering Steven Curtis Chapman’s 1999 album Speechless. While we had Great Expectations when we sent The Invitation for Chase Tremaine to join us on this week’s episode, I Do Believe we were left Speechless. We had a great time, and hope you’ll pull a Steven Curtis Chapman and Dive right in to this (maybe last?) episode of Church Jams Now!

Pure Nostalgic Bliss

I’m so happy a podcast like this exists. I love the trip down memory lane that each episode brings me and how I’m reminded of so much good (or bad) music from my childhood Christian community. Props to y'all and thank you for doing this.

Great show

I always look forward to seeing what band or album will be featured on this weeks show. Gives me something great to listen to as I travel and the nostalgia is amazing. Growing up as a tooth and nail kid in the 90s and early 2000s, it doesn’t get much better than this. I like that they have fun with the show and they’re not cynical and bitter like another show I won’t mention.

If you went to Cornerstone in the 90’s- 00’s, this podcast is for you.

As a 30 something that is occasionally nostalgic for the christian punk I was obsessed with in high school, I found myself looking for a podcast my similar niche experience. I found one a few years ago, but quickly quit listening when I realized it was by guys who never musically moved on and where trying to convince the listener that the new Pillar album was actually really good.
Church Jams Now perfectly fits my taste as someone who mostly listens to indie rock now but occasionally turns on Underoath and As Cities Burn to remember a more simple time when bands that only have 400 fans could actually afford to tour and you didn’t have to google the political views of the band you were listening to.
I love that one of the hosts likes to go deep into the lyrical content while another is just all about the music and the vibes of a record. They fully recognize when stuff is cheesy fun (FM Static) and when it’s actually quality music (He Is Legend). And they curse! They’re just like me!
Just an overall entertaining, funny and insightful nostalgic look back for all the kids who were head banging in the church youth room circa 2005. Keep it going!
