This class promises to take the call to parenthood very seriously––while not taking ourselves too seriously! There will no doubt be laughter, tears, and joy as we explore together the strengths and weaknesses in our own parenting, while firmly standing on the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.

    Class 3 - One 'No' in a World of 'Yes' and the 3 L's

    This week Justin and Molly discuss the way God created the world in the beginning and draw out the implications for family life. They also examine the difference between legalism, license and true liberty.

    Class 2 - Godly Goals and God's Method

    This week Justin and Molly build on the prior week's exercise about the goals parents have for their children. This week as they open up the second and third chapters of Douglas Wilson's Why Children Matter, they examine the Bible in order to see what God's goals are for His children. The second chapter of Why Children Matter lays emphasis that God's goals are accomplished through the method of imitation. Children will imitate their parents, and parents are to be imitating God. Finally they turn to chapter 3 of Why Children Matter briefly to see the first aspect of how parents are to imitate God: they are to give themselves for their children's good (sacrifice) and to rejoice in doing so (singing).

    Class 1 - Beginning With the End in Mind

    In this class, Justin and Molly discuss what they hope to get out of this course and set forth how they envision the class looking going forward.
