Coach Carter (2005‪)‬ Why Press Play

    • TV & Film

On this episode of Why Press Play I chat with Claire Fox about one of the most watched movies on her roster (and not on purpose). The 'against all odds' 'balls in the hood' basketball story that sees Samuel L Jackson whip a sass mouthed band of raggle taggle ghetto gobshites into a respectable and well trained high school team that respect hard work and discipline.Based on a true story Ken Carter (Jackson) somes back to his old award winning high school basketball team to see if he can impart some of his knowledge on these show boating youths. Using unusual methods and strict punishment he changes the attitudes of at least some of these young lads and helps them prepare for a life of meritocracy and not mediocrity.A young cast of b-ballers including a youthful Channing Tatum are excellent here and although the different story lines are a little lacking, the atmosphere of the movie is jubilant and hopeful and will leave a warm tingle in your tummy, so go watch it!Let us know what you think of the show by following Why Press play on social media:Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/whypressplayTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/whypressplayInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/whypressplayPinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/whypressplayReddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/whypressplayYouTube: http://www.youtube.com/whypressplayTwitch: http://www.twitch.tv/whypressplayVid.me: http://www.vid.me/whypressplayJoin us and other fans for chats on movies, games and TV show on our Discord server by clicking here and downloading the app: https://discord.gg/U2pHR5gAnd you can support the show by subscribing to our Patreon page where you will get loads of exclusive content and discounts on merchandise http://www.patreon.com/whypressplay
