Practical is powerful

I found Mike’s podcast after a search on health and fitness. I like his no-nonsense and practical approach to fitness and health. He’s also a Philly guy, so you know he’s got something to say!

I love this podcast! Recently the more mental aspect has been so interesting to me. truth be told it plays such an enormous role in every aspect of life and i think the mindset here is amazing. I am about to graduate with my B.S. in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in health and fitness and a minor in psychology and it’s so great to hear so much truth be spread. Also have my NASM CPT and am looking to progress into a part time position and the coaches compass is so helpful!! 10/10 recommend a listen !!!!!!
Logical, Data Driven, Factual

I have listened to Mind over macros for several years now. It is the ONE podcast for health, wellness & fitness that I always come back to. Mike presents factual & logical approaches to dieting or even just wellness, ways to help create healthy sustainable habits for a lifelong change to your lifestyle that isn’t a quick fix. Even when I’m well equipped with knowledge from my years of training & dieting, Mike is always there to refresh my mind & set me on the right path again if life has knocked me off my path.
Bad advice

There’s a lot of opinion and privilege that comes across in the host’s language that he uses to coach. “Don’t talk to me if you can’t hit your macros two days in a row” is a direct quote from the episode I listened to. A good coach isn’t going to deny you access from advancing to the next level of your goal, they’re going to try to understand what’s getting in your way and work with you to break down barriers. On top of poor coaching, the host inputs opinion based theories throughout the show which come across as “well this worked for me it must work for everyone” and if you’re not on par you’re failing. I listened to one episode, so this is truly a review based on my short experience listening. But all in all, if you’re not a straight white man, and you are trying to lose weight or change your body in anyway, don’t listen to this podcast - it’s going to prevent you from trying.
