Colors of the Dark

This is such a great pairing. I like horror but not a die hard fan but I try not to miss an episode. These two are two of the best hosts. They have a great rapport which makes this podcast easy to listen to. But also they’re love of the Craft is infectious. They have a deep knowledge of not only horror but of story telling in general. They review horror films as well as books. Very informative podcast. Love it!

Obviously these 2 know A LOT about the subject matter, and they are well respected and accomplished artists in their fields. Their passion for all things horror is undeniable. However I’ve often come away feeling frustrated by how much of the plot of movies are given away in their reviews. Maybe not technically spoilers, but so much is given away that I feel much of the movie is ruined before I see it. And if I hear the word “bonkers” one more time as a description of a movie storyline, then I’LL go bonkers….I was pleasantly surprised to hear one of my favorite authors on a recent podcast, and they seemed to happily talk on and on, leaving him silent for minutes on end. On the fence about whether I’ll continue, but again, they know tons about horror.

Shockwaves was better. In fact going back and listening to old shockwaves eps is still better

It’s refreshing to listen to a podcast where the hosts sound natural and authentic. This podcast is intelligent but not overly academic and dry. Rebekah is awesome and hilarious.
