At the very opening of the book, we meet Adam Zantz, the hero of the story, and we learn about the mystery of a long ago crime that he must solve. As a Private Investigator (P. I. ) in training he has the passion for his assignment which is also fueled by complicated family relationships. It all brings color to this beautifully written tale of suspense and surprise.
