The average American consumes a 26:1 ratio between omega-6 to omega-3, whereas we should be sitting at 1:1 ratio. How crazy is that? In this episode of the Complete Human Podcast, you’ll learn why this is happening, why this is an issue and what you can do about it.

    Questions we answer:

What has caused our diet to be so high in omega-6?
Why do we need to have a proper ratio between the two?

Debunking Nootropics: Why Most are a Placebo & How to Select the Most Effective One

Have you used nootropics before? They are quickly becoming mainstream in the biohacking – or what we like to call it, bio-optimizing – community. Nootropics, or “smart drugs,” are a class of substances that can boost brain performance. They are sometimes called cognition enhancers or memory enhancing substances. But here’s the thing: Most nootropics on the market only provide you with placebo effects. That’s why in this episode of the Complete Human podcast, we’re here to debunk this quickly growing trend. We dive into the main questions we get asked on nootropics and bring you the truth!

    What we answer:
    What is a nootropic?
What are the different kinds of nootropics?
Why all nootropic supplements aren’t effective?
What to look for when selecting a nootropic supplement?
How often is it safe to take nootropics?
What can you do to boost cognitive function aside from nootropics?

Do you have the tendency to only seek out the information that favors your existing beliefs?
If yes, you might be guilty of confirmation bias...which could be very problematic especially in COVID times.
In this latest episode of Complete Human, Evan DeMarco picks apart the infamous Dr. Peter McCullough, an American cardiologist widely discredited by the scientific community for spreading misinformation on COVID-19. As Evan cites multiple studies that debunk these falsehoods, he also implores us to be more critical and intuitive consumers of new media. He shares 2 simple ways to get past confirmation bias and save ourselves from making ignorant, lethal mistakes.
    What is discussed:
    1:56 – Everything that's wrong about Dr. Peter McCullough's COVID-19 claims
4:05 – Scientific fact #1: You have a 2.34% greater chance of COVID-19 reinfection if you don't have the vaccine
5:35 – Scientific fact#2: People who are overweight are more susceptible to reinfection
6:03 – What is confirmation bias & why is it harmful?
8:00 – Can we trust Dr. McCullough's references?
9:10 – Is the Omicron variant the beginning of an end for COVID?
10:00 – 2 Effective Ways to Get Past Confirmation Bias

Scott Chaverri: How Red Light Therapy Can Solve Your Sleep, Skin, and Inflammatory Problems

What if you can recharge your cells, get better sleep, and improve your skin health just with the flick of a switch?
Red light therapy or RLT is a type of therapy that exposes you to specific wavelengths of red or near-infrared light. It's proven to stimulate mitochondrial function, suppress inflammation, and supercharge cell healing and recovery. In this episode of the Complete Human podcast, Scott Chaverri tells us more about the profound health benefits of red light therapy and how we can enjoy them without breaking the bank.
From childhood to his early 20s, Scott struggled with obesity, severe acne, and insomnia, which sparked his strong interest in health and wellness. His journey involves a lot of self-experimentation and costly medications, until an 8-dollar pair of red glasses gave him the best sleep he’d never had for a long time.
Here, he shares how those blue blocking glasses changed his life. He also explains how the different light spectrums affect our physiology and why our modern lifestyle calls for a red-light supplementation, especially with the alarming Vitamin D deficiency in the world today.

Not what I was expecting

The Castro interview sucked, felt like Janna was fan girling the whole time and they didn’t hold him or CrossFit accountable. Other than that one episode, most are really engaging and I always walk away with actionable stuff. Great work guys, keep it up.

I’ve learned so much!

Janna and Evan make a great team…so not surprised that their podcast is incredibly educational and leaves me wanting to learn more! I also love how they are not afraid to challenge their guests which leads to a deeper conversation and not just another podcast. My personal favorite was their interview with Lisa Wimberger.

Help you think differently

These two crack me up and have great guests and topics. What I really like is they rarely take the “popular” opinion just because - they’re willing to challenge belief systems in order to help listeners think differently or even question their own thoughts about a topic.

Great podcast!
