Brazil GP Reflection - Max's Champion Drive, Alpine's $30+ Million Race, Red Flag Rules?!! | EP44

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Feven, Claudia and Mikey as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Brazilian Grand Prix. The Brazilian Grand Prix, known for its history of thrilling races, lived up to expectations once again. With rain in the forecast, fans anticipated a weekend full of unpredictability, and as a sprint weekend, it was action-packed from start to finish. McLaren looked determined, showing impressive pace through practice, sprint qualifying, and the sprint race. Heavy rain on Saturday forced qualifying to be rescheduled for Sunday morning, just hours before the main event. Qualifying turned chaotic with five red flags as drivers struggled to stay on track in the wet conditions. Both Red Bull drivers were eliminated in Q2 when a red flag with 40 seconds left halted their progress. Max Verstappen faced a five-place grid penalty due to an engine change, starting from P17 while his championship rival started from pole. For Red Bull, it was all about damage limitation, but once the lights went out, Max was unstoppable. Driving flawlessly, he climbed through the field in less than half the race, and after a red flag, he restarted in P2. On the restart, Max overtook Ocon and never looked back, setting over ten fastest laps and securing victory by more than 15 seconds. Alpine, a team few expected to see in the top five this season, made all the right strategic calls to secure a double podium finish, boosting them from ninth to sixth in the constructors' championship—a leap worth over $30 million in prize money. Mexico GP Reflection - Max's Dirty Tactics, Carlos Smooth Operator, Checo Checked Out?! | EP43

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Niru, Claudia and Mikey as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Mexican Grand Prix. The Mexican Grand Prix, Checo Perez’s home race, was set up as his chance to shine, but Red Bull faced early challenges as both drivers struggled with balance and lacked pace during practice. Qualifying saw Checo exit in Q1, while Max Verstappen exceeded expectations with a P2 finish, surprising many who hadn’t expected him so high up the grid. Ferrari, coming off a strong 1-2 finish in Austin, aimed to keep their winning streak alive. From practice, they showed impressive race pace, with Carlos Sainz delivering a remarkable qualifying lap that no one could match. Although he lost the lead to Max at the race start, a well-timed move following the safety car allowed Carlos to reclaim the lead from Max, which he held onto until the finish. The rivalry between Max and Lando heated up in this race, with Max’s erratic driving nearly causing both drivers to DNF. The incident ultimately resulted in a 20-second penalty for Max, while Lando, delayed by the battle, missed the chance to challenge the Ferraris until the closing laps. With both championships now at stake, every inch and every point counts as both teams rely on their drivers to maximize points. With one race left in the triple-header, including a sprint, there’s a lot on the line. Austin GP Reflection - Ferrari Dominates, Max & Lando Nail Biting Battle, Rookie's Showed Out | EP41

Welcome back to the Track Limits Podcast! Tune in with Henny, Feven, Claudia and Mikey as they unpack all the highlights from the recently concluded Austin Grand Prix. After a three-week break, F1 action resumed at the Austin Grand Prix, with added excitement thanks to a sprint qualifying and race. With multiple teams bringing significant upgrades and limited time for testing, both qualifying sessions were tightly contested. Red Bull looked strong in the sprint, with Max Verstappen topping both the qualifying and sprint race, but the main qualifying and race told a different story. Ferrari had a slow start to the weekend, but after making key adjustments before Parc Fermé, they secured P3 and P4 in qualifying, while Lando Norris and Max Verstappen lined up on the front row. After an intense Turn 1 battle between Max and Lando, Charles Leclerc capitalized on the situation, taking the race lead. From that point, Ferrari controlled the race, with both cars managing their positions effectively. The race saw heavy involvement from the stewards, who handed out penalties to multiple drivers. The most controversial moment came during a fierce late-race battle between Lando and Max. Max made a move on the inside, pushing Lando off track, but Lando regained the position by going off the circuit. The stewards handed Lando a five-second penalty, a decision that sparked debate, and ultimately allowed Max to finish P3, with Lando relegated to P4. Next up is the Mexico Grand Prix, the second race in this triple-header. With the stewards under scrutiny and the top teams fighting for the constructors' championship, all eyes will be on the action as McLaren remains within striking distance.
