How To See Around Corners: The Life Lens Progression with Dr. Jeff Spencer
Another episode of “Cornerman Chats” with Dr. Jeff Spencer. What’s in this episode? How about the ability to “see around corners”… To celebrate Dr. Jeff Spencer spending the next two days in our Tempe office, we’re gonna share a powerful one with you today… An exploration of how our perspectives and motivations change throughout different decades of our lives. Each decade has a distinct driver, motive, purpose, strength, and liability. The model provides insight into our own personal growth and can help us understand and empathize with others at different stages of their lives. It’s important to know how our perspective and priorities change as we progress through different decades of our lives so that we know what to expect next for ourselves and how to effectively navigate others. Dr. Jeff is an olympian and coach to many other olympians and business titans. This model is based on his observations and is not a rigid framework. The Life Lens Progression is organized by decades, starting from 0 to 10 and continuing up to 100+. Each decade is characterized by a driver, motive, purpose, strength, and liability. Notice how the driver in one decade can be a liability in another. We have to be cognizant of these changes so we don’t mistake a liability for an asset or a weakness for a strength.
