COSMIKO: Neon Night

COSMIKO: NEON NIGHT - SUMMARY: Dealing with a glitch, a crew transfers the consciousness of their ship to a glitter-skinned automaton named Evelyn. They urge this new-fledged independent body to “make it count” by offering her her first night out. We follow Evelyn into the cyberpunk city of Luna Mare Nubium. Her simple task to pay an outstanding tab at a hamburger joint turns dangerous when a vending machine she stops at along the way pushes out a mysterious vial instead of a beverage. The accidental find triggers a city wide chase where she meets an unlikely ally, Zheyuan Chen, a Nine Dragons gang member who is looking for his way out. What’s a robot girl to do when she is running out of power, looking for adventure with her rare day off, and dealing with a glitch dancing in her vision, tempting her to discovery? THOUGHTS: I enjoyed the layered audio of this audio drama podcast with its ambient city soundscape of incidental advertisements, surrounding traffic, etc. High marks for delivering on texture and bustle. I thought it was great to follow a robot lead and hear her inner processes contradict her speech in a way that audio drama does best. Here is a ship’s consciousness learning to enjoy free will such as the right to say the f-word. This is a clean story suited to young adults and up, with some gang related content.

Love the cyberpunk style sound design

The story so far is sweet and excited. It sounds very very high quality and the voices are smooth. It’s a great idea and a really good start. I think it’s modern and with following along!
