Listened on a chrystal radio set in 1962
I was 9 years old when I found Coil and Sharpe on my chrystal radio set listening under the covers. I thought they were lost to the sands of time. Some of the best man on the street puton artists ever seen. So great to hear them again. Thanks for sharing them with the world.
Laughing at People Still Isn’t Funny
If Coyle and Sharp had had the wit needed for good improv, their work would have survived the passage of time. Who wouldn’t enjoy hearing one of them pitching a zany idea to the other and listening to the other’s nutty reply. But I guess I have too much empathy for people to enjoy Coyle and Sharp talking circles around ordinary San Franciscans at a time when the City still had a sizable working class populations. The pushy New Yorkers’ marks are good-hearted people responding earnestly in situations intended to make them the butt of the joke. What’s funny about that?
Laughing so hard
What took me so long to find this podcast? I love it. My co-irkers probably think I've really lost it this time. I hope they start producing more podcasts!
