Top Rank announces signing of lightweight Emiliano Vargas, the 18-year-old son of former two-time junior middleweight titleholder and U.S. Olympian Fernando Vargas. He is 1-0. Has first fight of deal Nov. 12 (ESPN+) on the undercard of middleweight titlist Janibek Alimkhanuly’s defense against Denzel Bentley at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Finally, heavyweight Jared Anderson (12-0, 12 Ks) stepping up to face Jerry Forrest (26-5-2, 20 KOs) Dec. 10 (ESPN) at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Teofimo Lopez-Jose Pedraza undercard. The card and fight have not been officially announced yet.
