Here's your weekly selection of news highlights from the Crosstalk news desk-----Senator Dianne Feinstein has passed away at the age of 90. She represented the state of California since 1992.----House Republicans are working to build a case to impeach President Joe Biden. A series of inquiry hearings in the House Oversight Committee kicked off yesterday.----The House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday revealed a document that showed Lesley Wolf, the assistant U.S. attorney for Delaware, blocked investigators from pursuing evidence relating to President Joe Biden as part of an investigation into violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act -FARA-. ----President Joe Biden's brother told the FBI that the first family, including Hunter, tried unsuccessfully to help a Chinese company buy U.S. energy interests and assets and did so believing that the firm's leader was tied directly to the Chinese Communist Party.----House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was all smiles Tuesday evening as he began his press conference to address progress in the House on the appropriations front.----Senator Bob Menendez pleaded not guilty Wednesday to bribery charges. Federal prosecutors have accused Menendez and his wife of accepting cash and gold bars in exchange for assisting the Egyptian government and interfering in law enforcement investigations.----Disagreements over Ukraine aid are threatening to be a major factor in the looming government shutdown.----Lawmakers are moving to protect the pay of U.S. troops as the clock ticks toward a potential government shutdown. ----Former President Trump's civil trial in New York on fraud charges will begin on Monday.

The push for world-global government continues. The World Health Organization, the World Economic Forum and the United Nations each have aggressive agendas where national sovereignty isn't part of their plans. There's the push for a central bank digital currency, digital I.D verification systems, vaccination passports, increased surveillance camera use, along with the use of artificial intelligence. --It's also worth noting that the meeting of the World Parliament of Religions took place where every religion was welcome, but there was special scorn for Evangelical Christianity.--Gary Kah has been monitoring these kinds of issues, and he returned to Crosstalk with a critical update. Gary is founder and director of Hope for the World. He is editor of Hope for the World Update, an author and former Europe and Middle East Trade Specialist for the Indiana State Government.--Gary began by noting that it doesn't matter if you're looking at it financially, politically, culturally or spiritually, we're coming undone as a nation. He did note that there's a -silver lining- in that people are starting to wake up. Common sense people know something isn't right and Gary believes there's an agenda driving it all. --So where's all this headed and why-- Gary told listeners that nearly every power center of our federal government is under the control of a godless majority. He sees this as part of a demonic worldview that's taken shape to push us into a situation of global governance with top-down control where we would eventually lose all freedoms.

You may recall the old phrase expressing surprise, shock or disgust where someone says, -What in the World--- That best describes the following headlines featured on this Crosstalk- --Dr. Konia Trouton admits switching to euthanasia after she could no longer profit from abortion.--Out of Nebraska, a woman who killed her daughter's 29 week old unborn baby, and set the child on fire, will only get 2 years in prison. --A 25 year old Texas man facing accusations of raping a 16 year old is no longer in jail due to a delay by prosecutors in obtaining an indictment against him.--Just days after the Million Person March against LGBT propaganda in schools swept the nation, the town of Waterloo, Ontario, was considering a bylaw prohibiting any communication on municipal property that could make LGBT-identifying individuals -feel harassed.---Long delayed hate speech legislation -Hate Crime and Public Order Bill- for Scotland would be activated in November once Scottish police are adequately trained and familiar with its complicated policies and frameworks.--Agencies within the Biden administration have moved to scrub gender specific words such as -mother- and -father- from childcare legislation.--California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would allow parents to lose custody of their children if they refuse to accept the child's gender identity. --Are such headlines indicative of a world moving rapidly toward the judgment of God or is this already his judgment playing out as he removes his hand of providence and protection-- You decide as Jim presented several other stories. He began his legal career through the Attorney General's Honors Program as a clerk to an administrative law judge in the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer at the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review.--Vice President Kamala Harris had been given the assignment of taking care of the U.S. border crisis. However, it's grown much worse primarily due to a refusal to enforce border laws. The problem has become so bad that earlier this month, the International Organization for Migration at the United Nations reported that the U.S. Southwest border is the world's deadliest land migration route.--Jihad Watch has reported an admission from the Department of Homeland Security that around 160 non-U.S. citizens on terror watch lists have attempted to cross over the border in 2023. Keep in mind that it only took 19 terrorists to bring about the 9-11 terror attacks upon America.--Many have seen the video footage of a train filled with military age men bound for the U.S. border. Train cars piled high with cheering men. Just a week ago a Fox News reporter said on social media that he recently witnessed, -One of the largest mass illegal crossings we have ever seen.---By the way, the invasion is not just by land, but by air as well as this administration is letting thousands fly directly into the U.S., which means the whole nation is being impacted with New York City now saying they'll have to spend more than a billion dollars to house illegals, and that's just for hotel rooms-

We live in a world where many people are claiming to have their own truth. As believers in Christ, we've been given the unshakable truth that comes from God alone. However, simply knowing this truth is not enough. We must be able to communicate it and when necessary, to defend it. The task of apologetics is for all believers to be able to give a defense for anyone who asks for the reason for the hope that is in us and then do that with meekness and fear. --How do we do this and where do we begin-- To answer that question, Crosstalk welcomed back Dr. Ron Rhodes. Ron is president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries. They are a teaching and resource ministry that specializes in defending Christianity against atheists, agnostics, skeptics, the cults, and world religions. Ron is a researcher, author and apologist, having written over 60 books. He joined Jim to discuss his recently released book, A Popular Survey of Apologetics for Today- Fast Facts Every Christian Should Know.--The word -apologetics- in the Greek means -defend.- Ron believes defending the faith is necessary because we're living in confusing times where there are many different religions and belief systems that are vying for supremacy. While that's going on, all of those individuals who believe in those false views are defending them. So what happens if those people defend their views but Christians remain silent-- They win---What's needed are Christians that are involved in the process of apologetics. It doesn't mean you have to go out and obtain a seminary degree or that you have to learn Greek or Hebrew. It means that you're led by the Lord to share the truth from Scripture with others.
