Been waiting for more
I was so into this podcast and I have been really bummed that it just seems abandoned
Cult in Connecticut
I am an atheist, raised atheist. While I do understand belief in a god, I’ve always been fascinated yet puzzled as to how and why individuals find themselves in cults: Invariably they think they are joining a group of honest, likeminded seekers of truth, community and proximity to ‘God’.
I’ve read numerous books, and listened to many good podcasts on the subject, the questions remained unanswered, until this podcast, where ex-members candidly and eloquently tell how they got in and then out of these webs of voluntary submissiveness.
One tale rises to the level of the poetic; Faith’s.
Like an unflinching amazon, she tells how in days of yore, she endured decades of brutality, at the hands of a false prophet who wounded but never broke her.
Excellent
Excellent podcast! I love the style of just letting people tell their own stories in their own words!
