Special Update From the Designer:

Subtasks are tasks like any other task. They’re just referred to as subtasks to signal that they’re each part of a larger series of related tasks one has to make in order to craft something. So anything that modifies a task modifies a subtask. (i.e. training in crafting numenera eases every crafting numenera subtask you attempt.)

We got this wrong in the episode, we’ll also be talking about it in our next episode briefly.
