Episode 41: Hosting Conferences, Coworking, and Supporting Entrepreneurs with Brianna Gonzales of The Social Chica

Episode 41: Hosting Conferences, Coworking, and Supporting Entrepreneurs with Brianna Gonzales of The Social Chica

Today, host Chef Carla Contreras is joined by Brianna Gonzales, the Founder of The Social Chica, a community and events organization that is also a Latina-owned business space for women entrepreneurs. In this episode, they discuss the importance of wellness in your business, creating a co-working space different from the rest, and how to make the most of attending a business event.
Wellness is deeply rooted in the Social Chica brand. Brianna is a firm believer that if you’re not putting 100% into yourself, that will be 100% mirrored back in your business. This is reflected in how the Social Chica operates their co-working spaces which are more like welcoming hangout spaces for women business owners. The needs of small business owners are at the forefront of the co-working and the spaces are fully equipped with covetable resources, like a content room, a meditation room, and access to affordable photographers. Brianna shares the Social Chica’s ethos in party planning, the types of guests they invite, and the incredible impact these kinds of networking opportunities have on the women attending. She concludes with nuggets of wisdom about approaching networking, both online and in person, and exciting upcoming events in 2024.

Episode 40: Business Building, Creating Community, and Mental Health Awareness with Jen and Vero Zeano of JZD

Today, host Chef Carla Contreras is joined by Jen and Vero Zeano of JZD, a Latina empowerment brand creating products to empower our community through nostalgia, remembering our roots, and celebrating the beauty of being Latina. In this episode, we discuss how the couple built their amazing company, how great it is to work in a family business, and the importance of mental health.
The JZD brand began to take off when their product messages went viral, first “My heart goes bidi bidi bom bom” then “LATINA POWER.” Jen and Vero share how they built JZD one small step at a time and then reinvested each success back into the business. Their commitment to going the extra mile in connecting with amazing Latina celebrities, like Aimee Carrero, to not only increase revenue but also spread their powerful messages is truly admirable. Episode 36: Spicy Flor de Jamaica Pomegranate Mocktail with Chamomile Anise Tea Recipe

Episode 36: Spicy Flor de Jamaica Pomegranate Mocktail with Chamomile Anise Tea Recipe

Today’s episode is all about bringing up the heat — with a recipe for our Spicy Flor de Jamaica Pomegranate Mocktail with Chamomile Anise Tea! It's the perfect concoction to sip during the winter holidays (or anytime you're craving a spicy treat). This recipe was built to bring exciting flavors together: hibiscus, pomegranate, and jalepeño. Plus, it’s inspired by one of our other TADIN recipes. Can you guess which one?
First, we share the recipe for our organic hibiscus tea jalepeño syrup, and detail how to store the syrup to create a beautiful concentrated flavor. From there, we cover how to transfer the syrup over the chamomile tea bags and implement the remaining ingredients — including Chef Carla’s favorite, bitters! Then, top your mocktail with something bubbly, like grapefruit seltzer or soda water. Garnish with sliced jalepeños and pomegranate arils (or more syrup!) and your mocktail is complete. Head to TADIN’s Instagram where you can find this recipe, plus so much more. Enjoy!

My mom’s Favorite Teas

I grew up with tadin teas as a little girl. My mom always used chamomile teas for tummy aches or cramps. As an adult now I love to explore the other flavors or spices I should say. The one with ginger is one of my favorites. By the way it’s a very interesting podcast and soothing .@mmmm_delicioso IG
