Adopt Heaton

Intelligent, witty, curious, and respetcful - and, according to himself - sharp-looking in a blazer. Andrew Heaton is all of that. Every episode of this podcast is guaranteed to make one think, make one chuckle, and make one just a little bit smarter than one was before (and make one use very stilted language that one may be embarrassed by). Mr. Heaton is also transparent about his sponsors, although I am boycotting Snuffy's horse-themed diner as, turns out, I am allergic to horses. I did *not* order a side of hives with my Thoroughbred Breakfast Special.
Cruel and unusual punishmentS

Worth noting that it’s plural, not singular as the hosts kept saying. Textual support for the originalist notion that the 8th amendment prohibits certain methods and practices of punishment (ie “punishments”) rather than abstract categories of criminalization and “punishment.” Robinson (1962) would have been better decided on due process grounds.
Best Musical Ever!!

I thoroughly enjoyed your debate musical. As usual, you were evenly critical and ever balanced. Thank you for the laughs.

Started following the show probably 6 months ago and have become a huge fan! Heaton routinely brings in diverse voices and construct hypotheses to take difficult problems. That being said, on the campus protest episode his guest Kaplan starting the discussion saying the protest was about dressing up as Hamas and supporting the Oct 7th massacre, which is disingenuous at best. There’s nothing wrong with letting someone voice that opinion on your podcast, but Heaton seemed to just go along with it in agreement. Might avoid these “round table” episodes in the future.
