Homicide: Life On Repeat

I can’t sufficiently express my joy in discovering this podcast. HLOTS has always been one of my absolute favorites. I own the DVDs, yet I recently subscribed to Peacock to experience the refresh of the video and audio. This podcast is a fantastic accompaniment to a “Homicide” rewatch. Reed Diamond and Kyle Secor are fantastic hosts. Their inside-story remembrances bring the tv episodes to a whole new perspective. The only downside? I usually listen to podcasts to help me fall asleep. This podcast keeps me wide awake with entertainment and insight. Congratulations on a great accomplishment. And… thank you.

Such a pleasure to hear Reed Diamond and Kyle Secor and their guests talk about what was the best show ever on broadcast tv. (Although I own the dvds, I joined Peacock in order to binge bc who remembers how to work a dvr?) It’s great to hear the inside stories from David Simon and Tom Fontana. I’m sure some of the excellent writers will follow. Was there ever better writing or acting on a tv drama? Biggest surprise for me so far: Diamond could not be further from Kellerman in every possible way. Biggest sadness: the late Andre Braugher and Yaphet Kotto can never be guests, but they remain unforgettable.

A great companion piece to go along with the show finally be available on streaming. Kyle and Reed have good chemistry together and sound like lifelong friends catching up.

Thoroughly enjoying listening to this show! I love the looseness and genuine feel to it. I love how it's a little bit of everything- a little bit of a recap, memories from shooting, stories from the set, random bits from the actors' lives, guest appearances... I was a Homicide fan almost from the beginning. It was the first prestige TV I ever watched even if that wasn't a term used at the time. I remember rewatching on DVD in the early aughts when we got netflix, then I bought the DVDs myself about 10 years ago. I loved knowing I could watch it whenever I wanted...and yet...I didn't. I waited for Peacock to deliver it to me via streaming. And now I am rewatching again. And falling in love all over again. I hope this podcast goes 100+ episodes!!
