Living in a world where everything seems to be instant gratification, we stop to talk about a concept we have discussed for a long time, the quality that comes with putting in the time to make something that will last.  We refer to one our favorite song lyrics “Make Something  Good,” by Laura Veirs, and discuss everything from cheap furniture, to careers, and of course our most important relationships.

Episode 84: “Bahay Dallas: Female Trio Bringing Filipino Food to the Foreground”

We interview 2 of the 3 powerhouse women from Bahay for their first podcast to date!  They have made their dreams a reality of bringing representation, education, and meaningful experience around Filipino food.  Sarah and Paloma join us while Denise works away prepping for one of their Kamayan family-style pop up dinners.  “Bahay” means “home” in Tagalog and they are carrying that sense of home everywhere they go.  They share their roots, their “why,” the joys and challenges of being women of color in the industry, and where they are headed.  Follow them on Instagram at @bahaydallas and our podcast at @dearfriend.podcast.  You can watch all of our episodes on Youtube at Dear Friend, Podcast.

Hands Down the Most Uplifting Podcast!

I look forward to listening to Haylee and Amanda every week because while we’re all dealing with so much—from the pandemic to police brutality—they bring light, laughter, and good energy with each episode. They’re hilarious and kind but they also bring insight to helping each of us understand ourselves better. We all have such unique purposes, and Haylee and Amanda remind us of that through their own experiences but also through their wonderful guests. Every week, I finish their podcast feeling fed and encouraged.

If you’re looking for an honest, funny, inspiring podcast to start your week off right, this is the one!
