Deep Crown - Why Instiitutional Knowledge Matters

My colleagues at Palace Intrigue keep reminding me that these stories drive engagement, and my inbox floods every time I touch this topic. But this week's "As Ever" saga provides such a perfect case study in why The Firm's methodical approach exists that I find myself, once again, compelled to analyze it.
The latest rebranding debacle isn't just about a name change – it's about the fundamental difference between individual entrepreneurship and institutional wisdom. Within days of launching, we've seen the new venture face challenges from a Spanish town's centuries-old coat of arms (dating back to 1370, no less) and a pre-existing New York vintage clothing brand. This comes after the original "American Riviera Orchard" apparently ran afoul of a pear company's trademark. You couldn't script a better illustration of why the royal institution's careful, sometimes maddeningly slow approach to everything serves a purpose.
