For this episode, I have invited Joshua Garnica a Program Specialist with Kern Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Mental Health Service Act Team.

Joshua jumps on Destigmatize to share his mental health journey, how Prepare U Pro has worked for him & how this resource can be a supplemental mental health resource tool for all.

The goal of this episode is to share this resource for free to local schools and organizations that would like to have Prepare U Pro for students.

In honor of Black History Month (but being black is beautiful 365, don't need a month), I have invited Desiray Sumlin, Air Force Technical Sargent Garyn Henderson, and previous Destigmatize Mental Health Podcast guest Anthony Hannah to represent the culture, promote positivity, mental health awareness, and wellness to the black community.

Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation (Y2L) Executive Director Gabriel Adame as well as Y2L’s Education Foundation Program Coordinator Fellows Paola Caballero & Tizoc Valdez join to help destigmatize pursuing higher education.

"It is with heavy hearts to share the news of Italy's passing. Despite her brave fight against pre-B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Italy's journey has come to an end. Our thoughts and prayers are with Italy's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. While her physical presence may no longer be with us, Italy's spirit, resilience, and the impact she has made on countless lives through her strength and courage will continue to inspire us all. For this season opener, I have been contacted to discuss  Italy Gonzalez, an 11-year-old from Shafter, California, who has undergone various medical procedures, diagnoses, and prognoses.

To better understand, I’ve invited Italy’s aunt Daisy Chacon-Ceballos, one of the vendors of the #ItalyStrong fundraising event Mirna Beltran of Getsum Cookies  & Daniella Trujillo (the event organizers) to explore the impacts of Childhood Cancer and why it’s important for community members to come together to support one another.

For this episode, we are highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness & to do so, I have invited Michelle Avila, the Executive Director of Kern County Cancer Foundation. Michelle is an alumnus of the University of Southern California & National University. Michelle agreed to do this episode to share the history of her nonprofit organization as well as share info about cancer in general to our community to have out. 



I have also invited Stana Bright, a 3-time Breast Cancer Survivor and an Eligibility Committee Member with Kern County Cancer Foundation. Stana agreed to join us on Destigmatize to give back to the cancer community and help people to know more about the organization.
