This show has all my favorite things, and I’m so glad I found my way to this corner of women’s soccer coverage after getting back into the sport last year. I especially appreciate the firm stances on trans rights and player protections. I don’t feel like there are enough hours in the day for me to keep up with European leagues, so I like those recaps too. Keep rocking! Dad joke: Where would Moo Deng go to college? A hippo campus. (And if she studies medicine, she’ll take…the Hippo-cratic oath). (If you laugh at other jokes but not these, you’re a hippocrite).

Courtney and Andre continuously celebrate and highlight black women in the game, unequivocally support queer and trans athletes, and report on the disparities women in soccer face around the world. Thank you for the amazing work - I am excited every time a new podcasts drops, and I’m logging onto an app I never use just so I can write a review. Andre “aww, they made a pac man, cute” Carlisle provides the perfect combination of context, stats (especially in the form of passing network pictographs), and vibes in his analysis. Courtney “I am Le tired” provides insight from her strong dedication behind the scenes at work, and effortlessly provides memorable quotes that often are the title of the episode - while this means I have no clue what I’m in for, I know it will be good coming from this duo. Dad joke and sorry it’s so bad, why did the chicken cross the road? BAWKcause….

Love the hosts’ faith in, centering, and celebration of Black women in the game; their unequivocal support for queer and trans athletes; the simultaneous depth and accessibility to newbies of their game analyses; and Courtney’s infectious laughter. (I’ll never forget her description of the Gotham holey wall that somehow defied physics to save their NWSL championship.) Dad joke: Why wasn’t the nose on the soccer team? It didn’t get picked! (admittedly from fatherly dot com) Nickname: André “Air Conditioned” Carlisle! Because he seems chill. Chill enough to forgive the suggestion. I hope. 🤓
