Disciple: Conform - 5 Steps When You Sin - Chris Nagel OneLife Church

    • Religion & Spirituality

What should our response to sin be in our lives? This week, Chris Nagel continued our series Disciple: Conform giving us five steps to help us in turning from sin. While we no longer are enslaved to sin when we become a Christian, we will still battle the temptation to sin. It’s not only external threats that we fight against - like Satan or the world, but we also battle the internal threat of our own flesh. We must fight sin in our lives by running to Jesus and his throne of grace. He has given us a new identity and it’s from this new identity that we have the power to fight sin. We must turn and point our desires towards God, relentlessly pulling up the roots of sinful desires in our lives. God has given us the Holy Spirit to empower us to walk in a manner that glorifies Him. But we also must be ruthless to cut out anything in our lives that leads us to sin. Jesus is the great physician that came for the sick - it’s your very sin that drew Jesus to you in the first place. So in our battle against sin, we must be people who run boldly to the throne of his grace.
