Vanita Aroda, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Katherine Tuttle, MD, Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, discuss current disparities in the treatment of women with type 2 diabetes and cardiorenal risk despite the evidence and breadth of available agents. They discuss that women are less likely to receive guideline-directed medical therapy, including both older and newer agents, and less likely to enroll in clinical trials, as well as the need to recognize and address these disparities.
Recorded during 2023 CMHC's Women's Health Masterclass, August 19, 2023.
