Venezuela

How do you talk about economic problems in Venezuela & not talk about US supported coup attempts & economic sanctions that the United States put on Venezuela?
Risk of losing institutional expertise

Great topic for an intelligent balanced discussion. As I understand, an important critique of how the US ended up with over 500k troops in Vietnam in 1968 in a practical stalemate was the purge of the State Department during the McCarthy red scare period of late 1940’s-early 1950’s. The lack of institutional expertise in IndoChina at the Star Department prevented the ability to potentially limit/avoid the mistake that was the Vietnam Wor which cost nearly 60k US lives
