Must Love Dogs

This podcast really touches on a lot of the things that dog-owners have thought about or secretly wondered for years. I love that the podcast is finally talking about our furry best friends. There are ads, but the episode topics are worth the listen.
convinced me to get a dog

after months, nay years, of wanting a dog I finally adopted after listening to this. the information is great, and it's done in a simple way which is helpful. I hope there's a second season for when I actually have my pup!!

Disappointing

When I first heard about this podcast, I was excited to learn about behavior in dogs, having recently moved in with my dog owner girlfriend. Sadly, my enthusiasm waned upon listening to the podcast, to what amounts to a glorified, extended Purina commercial. Don’t get me wrong, the info in the segments themselves was insightful. However: -The show opens, is segmented by and closes with an ad for Purina’s latest pet food. -The podcast icon features a prominent Purina ad. -A number of the segments are consulting with Purina-hired specialists. The last two items are actually not that bad by themselves. When combined with the constant advertising, it becomes WAY too heavy handed. The episodes are only about 10 minutes long each, there is no need for three runs of the same exact ad. Most podcasts that have sponsored advertising feature each sponsor ONCE per episode. Had Purina done that, this podcast would be much more tolerable. Even including the icon ad and the specialists employed by Purina would have been far easier to swallow had the ad played only once per episode. Alas, the constant pushing of product ruined the experience for me of what was surely some informative content. I should have known this was a little less than stellar when all of the episodes were released on the same day and then nothing was added past that first date, even a month and a half after the fact. There doesn’t seem to be any interest in continuing on the subject or fostering an audience or anything. Just selling pet food with some information thrown in. Toning down the commercials would have helped this podcast tremendously in at least giving the appearance of being informational instead of going for the heavy handed sale.
