How to Get Sh*t Done - 9 Tips for your Business & Life

How to Get Sh*t Done - 9 Tips for your Business & Life

In the past week, I've been asked this question probably 3x by doulas on our free 30-min business strategy sessions: "How do you do it all?"
As a mother of 3 young children (ages 6, 3 & 1), while running a business catering to two audiences, hosting this podcast, on multiple platforms - FB / IG / email / Pinterest, during a pandemic with no nanny or school, and somehow take care of yourself?
Here are nine tips on how I get sh*t done:
Non negotiables Get-to-do list. Prioritize Find pockets of time in day / week and choose high leverage actions accordingly Decide what needs to be done when the kids are napping (i.e. Doulas in Business Mastermind group calls) vs. what can be done with the kids in tow (i.e. exercising in the living room on day 62 of no school). Honor my cycle and my body Allow myself to receive support  Remember that everything gets easier with time & practice (writing / creating sales pages/ creating courses) Some multitasking (i.e. listening to digital courses that I purchase while out walking the dog or taking a shower)

10 Ways to Educate During Doula Awareness Month

10 Ways to Educate During Doula Awareness Month

Your job during Doula Awareness Month: Educate. Yes, even if you’re not a Childbirth Educator.

Why? People don’t invest in things that they don’t understand.

Doulas - we have a job this month, and always - to educate the general population about doula support.

When you educate people - they rise, they become aware, empowered, and gather enough information to make a decision.

Think deeper than “provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth.”

Here are 10 ways that you can educate during Doula Awareness Month:
Journal prompt: If you could go back a few years (or more), what would you tell yourself about doulas? When you create content (written, video or whatever), how can you paint the picture? What can you share / teach about the history of birth support? What are other areas of your life where your potential clients might have sought support? Speak to these.  Explain the difference between midwives & doulas. Ask any past clients if they’d like to share their birth story - via blog / video / whatever they’re comfortable with. Share your own birth story - explaining the role of doula support. Use doula statistics in a creative way to educate beyond the numbers. Talk about the transition period we’re all in right now, and how virtual doula support bridges the gap.  What are the ways that you’ve received virtual support and found it helpful? Speak to your experience and relate to where they're at. >>> Audience Expansion Self-paced

Passive Courses, Your Business & Your Energy

Passive Courses, Your Business & Your Energy

What happens if you make your courses passive, or self-paced? Or even part of your course? Spoiler alert: you don't lose the opportunity to connect and engage with your clients. You can actually go deeper in your 1:1 or small group time with them.
This week I'm explaining how I took my online courses to passive in September of 2019, where my energy shifted, and what opened up for my business as a result.
There's truth to 'where your focus goes, your energy goes.'
Here's what I want you to sit with after this episode: if you decided to make part of your business passive, what would you do with the freed up time?

Doula + Mom life game changer!

I first found Nichole Joy on Instagram, as a doula trying to navigate the transition to support my clients virtually. Talk about divine timing. From the first episode of her podcast that I listened to, I knew that she “got” me. Real talk about balancing real life with business life, expert guidance on transitioning your business to the digital side, and more golden nuggets of wisdom than I can keep track of. This podcast now sits in my “always listen first” spot - forever grateful to have found her!
