Today’s guest on the podcast is clinical psychologist and best selling author Dr. Margaret Rutherford (@drmargaretrutherford). As a practicing therapist, Dr. Rutherford has had a private practice for more than twenty-five years and has experience treating individuals and couples for depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. She also has a popular blog and podcast with the goal of decreasing the stigma around psychological treatment.

Her most recent work, however, is her new book titled "Perfectly Hidden Depression" which discusses the link between perfectionism and the rising levels of anxiety, stress, and depression and how we can best deal with this in today's society.

In today's discussion with Dr. Rutherford, we discuss how she got started in her practice and what lead her to the field of psychology, the role that social media and other digital platforms have taken in our lives, what perfectly hidden depression is and how to overcome it, and much more.
