Setting the Tone: An ER Retrospective

This is a good podcast I have only done a couple episodes and restarted epsiode 1 and 2 but I will get through the whole podcast and will be glad to have whenever I wanna listen to it

I love the show ER so I was excited to find this podcast and people who equally love it and discuss it. One of the podcasters can’t help but interject (constantly) every health problem he or she has through out the episodes and that can get very taxing. But they have great insight and it is enjoyable.

I want to applaud the threesome of Elizabeth, Lauren, and Daniel for their good work on this podcast. They offer unfailingly compelling insights into this show - its strong points, its weak points - nicely balancing objective reviewing with more deeply personal reflection on how the show affects them. I also appreciate how they draw upon their own relevant life experience (e.g., first-hand experience with seizures) when that can enhance their analysis. Recorded excerpts are almost always well-chosen and effectively introduced. One thing I don’t understand is why Elizabeth’s introductions sound so hazy compared to the speaking of the other two- Elizabeth’s mic level needs to be bumped up a bit, or she needs to speak up and more distinctively. I also object to the Explicit language- not just out of my own personal preferences, but because the F-word is virtually never the best, clearest word to use. It’s lazy. Otherwise, this is a very strong podcast and a worthy celebration of one of the finest dramas ever seen on television. Keep up the good work.

Can appreciate the love for the show but sometimes it’s too much drama. Times are so different now you can’t look at the same things in todays viewpoint. I was also very turned off when Mark died and they spent a lot of that episode doing jokes and weird music. Like yes it’s nice to make humor out of hard things, but that is arguably the saddest episode/plot line of the show. And they made a mockery of it. From then on I listened but it changed it for me.
