    A young producer from the unlikely bass oasis of Bridgeport, Connecticut steps up to revive Dub War's mix series after over a year in hibernation. Humble Dinosaur has inconspicuously built off the foundation of 2007-era dubstep while taking cues from many of the best developments of the sound in ensuing years. Incorporating weighty halfstep, Hessle Audio-inspired rhythmic wonkiness, and synth melodies that could be at home on Hyperdub or Night Slugs, Humble Dinosaur has crafted a sound that is uniquely his own while sitting comfortably alongside some of the best bass music of recent years.     Dub War Podcast 10 (Badawi - The Index Showcase Pt1)

    NYC legend Badawi shows off forthcoming original material for The Index label. Kode 9's remix of his "Den of Drumz" introduced him to the dubstep generation, but Badawi has been pushing the boudaries of experimental dub and bass music going back to the gritty 90's in NYC with his work as part of Sub Dub, as well as solo material including "Bedouin Soundclash feat Honeychild," and his modern compositions as Raz Mesinai. Look for Index 001 in stores soon including "El Topo" and the Shackleton remix of "DstryAllPrfts."

    Dub War Podcast 09 (Headhunter)

    The young DJ and producer Headhunter from Bristol UK has built an impressive discography in a short time. His Nomad album on Tempa Recordings, as well as a string of 12"s have cemented his popularity with people across the spectrum of dubstep's various strains: from dark halfstep styles to the more running techno 4/4 flavors. His Dub War mix is a reflection of this delicate balance between experimentation and dancefloor impact which he has expertly managed in his productions and which has allowed him to carve out an instantly recognizeable sound of his own.

    Dub War Podcast 06 (Raz Mesinai)

    Raz Mesinai's "String Quartet For Four Turntables" is a composition for string quartet (comprised of 2 violins, 1 viola, and 1 cello), with each instrument recorded separately in the studio and then pressed onto 12" vinyl. The 12"s are played by 2 dj's who each have 2 copies of the 12"s and 2 turntables.  It was first performed by Dj Olive and Dj Toshio Kajiwara at the Lincoln Center Festival in 2000 but was never recorded nor released until now. Mesinai insisted on letting the vinyl sit, uncovered, for 9 years (so that the crackles and pops would be more present) before finally re recording the piece exclusively for Dub War. In this version Mesinai performs it himself, focusing on the tuning of the turntables, creating intense dissonant textures.
