Mourning Meeting
College students are naturally grieving humans. Away from home, friends and family, learning how to cope with these losses can be difficult. But for students who have experienced a death, divorce, break up, or other significant loss (perhaps due to COVID-19), new coping tools and supports are more important than ever. We will talk about how to best support these young adults while also taking care of our own mental health. We will talk about tough things, but the podcast aims to be inspiring, uplifting and even funny sometimes! Join us!

As a california Native American I was taken back by Rebeccah’s response to rituals. I was searching for grieving and loss for my daughter who will be attending college. I was hoping that Rebeccah would introduced her culture at some point in the episode. I was left searching and found her on Instagram. She is supposedly Cherokee (a 16th). I want to let the audience know that Rebeccah is right our traditions are NOT the same. To be clear, I have NEVER seen people “drink” at our ceremonies. It’s prohibited and for her to laugh about people eating is simply immature. Also, I find it hard to believe she lived on the reservation after looking at her IG. Mandi this is not a clear/accurate understanding of Native American mourning please delete this episode.
