Effective marketing for small businesses in just 8 steps

The Marketing Channel

What does it take to create an effective marketing plan? Join me, Britt'ni Fields, in this episode to learn what you need to succeed in your marketing strategy. Having worked with many entrepreneurs, I’ve seen countless people diving into marketing before knowing how to go about it, which often ends up wasting a lot of their time and money on efforts that don’t work. You can’t expect marketing to achieve the growth you desire if you don’t do the research first.

I talk about the importance of figuring out your target audience and humanizing them with a buyer persona, identifying the problem you want to solve for them, and researching your competitors. Knowing yourself and what you do is essential. You must be able to explain your mission to a six-year-old. I also explain the benefits of creating a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) chart and analyzing the performance of your marketing tactics.

“Set goals so you know how to measure the success of your marketing tactics. The last thing you want to do is waste time and money choosing tactics that don’t perform the desired job.”

Quantity. Don’t feel like you have to do it all right now, take it step by step. Towards the end of the episode, you’ll learn how to devise your target audience in The Marketing Minute. If you gained something from this episode, make sure to rate and review it and tune in next week for more marketing tactics from The Marketing Channel!

“Now you can be thoughtful about your approaches and choose wisely because you’ve done the necessary research.”
