Ep. 10 | Preparing for and nailing behavioural interview questions

THIS EPISODE Johnny talks about how to prepare for the classic behavioural interview questions. Further, Johnny talks about using PREPSTAR, a modification on the tried and tested STAR method of answering behavioural interview questions. PREPSTAR is particularly effective at helping showcase transferable skills for applicants who do not have a lot of relevant industry experience. Johnny was able to secure a competitive clerkship at Ashurst, a top-tier commercial law firm, without having had any real legal experience. PREPSTAR was one of the main tools he used during the interview process.   BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT THE PODCAST AND HOST  The LLB Podcast is a series aimed at providing advice geared towards students (particularly those studying law) who are first-in-family to attend university and do not have many mentors. This is a collection of topics and advice about questions you may have or struggles you may face at university. He grew up in one of the poorest suburbs in Australia. He eventually studied a combined LLB and BComm at Western Sydney University. While at university, Johnny undertook 8 highly varied internships. 3 of these internships occurred overseas. Johnny has worked in commercial law, strategy and consulting, social media marketing and even community development and aid. While at university, Johnny received university sponsorship to travel to 20 countries to attend exchange semesters, short-term study programs, cultural exchanges, conferences and international competitions.
