Hi Michelle, I just listened to your last podcast and I am so excited to listen to the rest of the episodes on your channel! I want to encourage you to feel peace as you scale back on your work as I did two years ago when we moved into our new home with a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old. It was the best two years of making more time to be intentional with my family create new memories and build my boundaries. I am a wedding and portrait photographer and in that season I was called to be at home and on February 1st I am opening up my first studio and I am so excited because in this season I hear in my heart deeply that it’s time for me. Your time will come and you will know the call and you will answer to it confidently whichever direction may be thank you so much for your episodes. -Hosanna (all of this was written in voice text so please excuse the grammar)
In The Thick of a New Season
29/11/2022
New Seasons are hard but Gods grace and mercy is sufficient. I do not find it to be a coincidence that you are discussing the exact season I am currently in. I just had my baby girl 8 months ago. My youngest child was 8 years old and I have had fertility issues my entire life so to tell you this was a complete shock is an understatement. It’s also no coincidence that God gave us her name, Mercy. When I was 5 months pregnant my husband received military orders that would move us from Washington state to Texas. Everything my family and I knew as safe, familiar and home was in Washington. This move was not easy… but God. He was doing such a huge work in my heart. The last thing, I’d say the ear to the teddy bear that I had been holding on to, is my career or working. I’ve found my identity in “being a hard worker” for so long. So when I entered into this season again of being a mom to a new born I forgot that it came with sacrifices. Sacrifices that I wasn’t really ready to make. I had been a realtor for 4 years now. And I had told myself that I can definitely still work, women did it all the time. Working while having a small child was no biggie. I didn’t see that God had already started to prepare my situation for letting go of my career for a season. God called me to home school my oldest son for his middle school years when I first got pregnant. That drastically cut down the amount of work I could do. Then I was so physically exhausted during my pregnancy trying to work and grind was not happening. But I still held on to that ear. I wanted to work, if I didn’t then I would “just” be a mom. You talk a bout unpacking that one. Once I had our daughter and moved I found myself craving work even more. I didn’t want to sit in my new normal. I needed work to distract me from the pain of leaving everything behind. It was like I was willing to unpack some boxes but some I left on the shelf for later. But God… well I’m here now. Ready to see the new season God has me in. I still haven’t approached the news of me not working with my husband… that’s going to be hard but honestly I will be so relieved once we talk about it. Feeling pulled in two different directions I see now is not Gods best for my life. I am ready to let go of that last season be fully invested in this one. Burn the plow, if you will. God has been there for us every step of the way in this transitions, from the schools and the church we attend, to the assignment my husband received. The house He gave us to the sports they play. He showed up in so many miraculous ways. And you said it so eloquently, the thing that seemed like the punishment was definitely the blessing. I had been praying for years that our family would grow closer with God and closer together. That my husbands and I relationship would grow and go through a revival. Now it has definitely not been easy but I can tell you it’s been worth it. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV
Always Encouraged
03/11/2022
Listening to Michelle I am always encouraged and inspired in whatever life situation I am facing. Her message is always real, points me back to Jesus and applicable to my walk. The walk of surrender is not an easy road but it’s good. Encouragement along the way is needed to keep up the good fight. This podcast reminds me the fight is worth it… all for the glory of God!
