    4 Private Practice Rules You Need to Break

    Private practice comes with a lot of “rules” we’re told to follow. Most of them are unspoken, but deeply ingrained. Work evenings and weekends because that’s when clients are free. A “real” therapist sees people in person. High fees are unethical. And of course, you should never say no to a referral.  The problem is that when we follow these without question, we are left feeling burned out, resentful, and stuck in businesses that don’t fit our lives.  In this episode, I’m naming and unpacking the four biggest myths that keep therapists, especially women and moms, playing small in private practice.     After taking a summer to reset, I’m back and ready to share what time away taught me about life, work, and self-care. This conversation is part reflection and part permission slip to give yourself space when you need it.
