In January 2022, leaders from Intel announced a $20 billion investment in the construction of two new computer chip factories in central Ohio. And this past September, Intel awarded three grants to Ohio State – a combined $4.5 million – to prepare a highly skilled and diverse semiconductor industry workforce and to advance development of semiconductors and next-generation device technologies.
