Ep. 14: Blair Underwood - Confident, Casual, and Cool

Here’s To Life with Tori Reid

Tori reunites with a great spirit, actor, producer… storyteller, an iconic esquire in television. He is a proud son, father, and husband, and an enlightened spirit of the universe. Beginning a career in the eighties, this culture maker and outlier has managed to do something very rarefied with his life - be a Black man who identifies with his community, honors his family and people, stays true to himself, and be a confident, casual, cool, and kind soul.  We’ve all seen him on LA Law, Sex and the City, Set It Off, and Netflix’s Self Made. Most recently, he was nominated for a 2021 Tony Award for Best Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role in Broadway's "A Soldier's Play," with the award show airing sometime this year. More than a friend, Blair is like family and this incredible conversation is a tribute to his beloved mother, Marilyn. They talk about how he defines himself, his entrée into acting, his love of theatre, his role models, and so much more! Here’s to one of the great ones, Blair Underwood.
