The World At Large

This week’s episode begins with sad news out of Boulder, Colorado. Last week 10 people were murdered at a local grocery store in another mass shooting. Listen as Que shares his take on gun control and why some people may be missing the mark.

Next, Oakland is set to begin a new program where 600 low-income BIPOC families will receive $500 extra with no strings attached. It’s an attempt by the city to shrink the racial wealth gap in a place that’s overwhelmingly people of color yet, the annual median income is twice as high for its white residents.

A new bill was passed by the Georgia state Legislature that amounts to an all-out assault on voting rights. Among other things, it sets out to criminalize handing out food and water to those who are waiting in line to vote.

Dwyane Wade made an appearance on the “I Am Athlete” podcast where the conversation was wide-ranging. The part that went viral was where he talked about the parenting journey him and his wife actress Gabrielle Union went on with regards to their Trans daughter Zaya Wade.

The show is then closed out with, “The Last Call”.
