Ep 110 | How to grow confidence to charge more | with Zena Potter

Hello and welcome to episode 110 of Webflail. I'm your host, Jack, your failure connoisseur, and today my guest is Zena Potter. Since 2022, she's been working as a freelance web designer and Webflow developer. She creates websites that attract, engage, and convert your target audience. But basically, she works with All sorts of different clients. She's worked with FinTech clients. She's worked with physiotherapy clients. She's done a lot of different websites in different industries before freelancing. She's worked in project management and PA consulting. So I think what's interesting about her is that she knows the client process really well, which I think a lot of web flows actually don't know as well as they need to. We'll talk a little bit about that in this episode. Another thing that we'll talk about is. Xena's approach to marketing herself as a freelancer. Alongside showing her work, she also shows behind the scenes like hiking, brunch, talking about things broader than just Webflow. So interesting to note there at the start of this episode too. But has it all been easy breezy for Zena? Of course not. The failures that we'll talk about today are: 1) Not LinkedIn/networking 2) Undercharging in cases where she could have charged more but lack the confidence 3) Not establishing a routine as a freelancer 00:00 Introduction and Initial Struggles 00:28 Meet the Guest: Zena Potter 01:37 Discussing Failures and Challenges 04:58 Networking and Overcoming Isolation 12:21 Project Management Skills in Freelancing 16:12 Learning and Transitioning to Web Design 17:46 Getting Clients and Marketing Strategies 22:32 Importance of LinkedIn and Networking 26:29 Building Connections as a Freelancer 27:20 The Importance of LinkedIn Marketing 28:23 Being Authentic Online 29:29 Consistency and Engagement on Social Media 31:58 The Slow Process of Gaining Clients 35:23 The Struggle with Pricing 39:00 Learning to Charge What You're Worth 46:23 Balancing Fun and Financial Goals 49:30 Establishing a Routine as a Freelancer 53:56 Future Challenges and Boundaries WEBFLAIL FREEBIES 10 Step Process To Land Your First Webflow Clients: The Ultimate Guide: https://www.webflail.com/resources/10-step-process-to-land-your-first-webflow-clients-the-ultimate-guide LINKS FOR ZENA ‍💻 See Website: https://www.zenadesigns.co.uk/ 🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/zena-potter/ TRY OUT WEBFLOW 🚀https://webflow.grsm.io/webflail‍ CONNECT WITH WEBFLAIL 📬 Subscribe to the newsletter: https://webflail.ck.page/8a5e37bca6 🐦 Connect on Twitter: https://twitter.com/JackRedley1 SAY THANKS 💜 Leave a review on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... 💜 Leave a rating on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/5834...
