Ep7: 네트워킹…다들 어떻게 하나요? (How do you network?)

Hosts: 선민, 은기, 세원, 상일, 우리 삶에서 네트워킹은 필수적입니다. 학교에 지원할때, 진로를 선택할때, 취업할때, 사업을 할때, 새로운 기회를 찾을때 등등 다양한 사람들을 만나고 관계를 맺는일은 무척 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이를테면 미국 취업시장에서의 고용은 공채제도보다 상시채용 제도로 이루어져있기 때문에 일자리를 찾을때 네트워킹을 통한 정보력이 특히 중요하다고 알려져 있습니다. 하지만 사람들과 좋은 인연을 맺는 일은 결코 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 좋은 인연을 위해서는 내가 무엇을 얻어낼 수 있는가만이 중요한 것이 아니라 내가 어떤 도움이 될 수 있을까도 생각해야 합니다. 이번 에피소드에서는 각자 어디서 어떻게 사람들을 만나고 관계를 쌓아가고 있는지에 대해 나눠보았습니다. Networking is essential. Building relationships with a diverse group of people is key to applying for schools, choosing career paths, seeking employment, starting businesses and pursuing new opportunities. For example, it is well known that information through networking is especially important when looking for a job in the U.S., because the majority of the American employers hire their employees on a rolling basis as opposed to an annual basis. However, building meaningful relationships never comes easy. To build a quality relationship, you must not only consider what you can achieve from the network but also contemplate what you can contribute to it. In this episode, we shared where and how each of us has built and extended relationships at work and in our daily lives.
