E8: Making ice cream from plants | Eclipse Foods

In Good Hands

According to some reports, animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gases than all of transportation combined. Not only that, animals are a very inefficient way to convert plant calories to meat calories (their current function in the food system).

For example, chickens require 9 calories of food to produce every 1 calorie of meat. That’s a staggering loss, and pigs and cows are even worse (~15 and 25 calories, respectively).

Enter Aylon Steinhart and his company Eclipse Foods - inventors of the first plant-based dairy products that require no sacrifice, ever. “It’s not a dairy alternative, it’s a dairy sequel.”
