    Happy New Year, Dear Readers! This month we are discussing The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin.  You are listening to Time to Read, a Winnipeg Public Library podcast book club.  We are recording today from the Millennium Library in Winnipeg. We are located in Treaty One Territory, the home and traditional lands of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe), Ininew (Cree), and Dakota peoples, and in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. Our drinking water comes from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, in Treaty Three Territory. NEW YEARS READING RESOLUTIONS FOR 2024! Dennis focused on reading some funny books, including Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots  and John Dies at the End plus Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits both by Jason Pargin aka David Wong  Toby reread a number of books this past year. Circe and Station Eleven in particular really hold up after a second look. Trevor got to a number of books he found in his house, including:The Bible (New Revised Standard Version) Theodore Roosevelt: a Life by Nathan Miller The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin Bel Canto by Ann Patchett Agatha Christie: Murder on the Links Crows: Encounters with the Wise Guys of the Avian World by Candace Savage Selections from The Complete Sherlock Holmes Selections from P.G. Wodehouse Selections from Tintin by Hergé Selections from his newly repatriated comic book collection from his Mom's basement NEW YEARS READING RESOLUTIONS FOR 2025! Toby will attempt to get all the way through an audiobook. (Way to reach for the stars, Toby!)Dennis will try to get through a multi-volume epic fantasy saga. (watch out for the misty woods or whatever, brave hero!)Trevor will try to read through all of the Hugo award finalists from this year.
