Episode 15 - May 2024 I Ching: Great Power, Great Mother, Community, Pause The Curiosity Solution Podcast

    • Society & Culture

May 5-June 4 is the Yin Earth Snake month. The overall energy is characterized by #34, Great Power. This card indicates that this will be a month of illumination, of noticing where the examples of self-respect, character, and dignity are. It can be a month of self-restraint as others are swinging from one extreme to another. The Snake is considered lucky in Chinese culture, as it has the body of the Dragon. That makes this month extra potent in this year of the Dragon.

Card #2, The Receptive, Focus line 1: This "pure Yin" card is referred to in the Tao as the Divine Mother, eternally birthing all things. Last month we had the pure Yang card, so this month is the time to go within to see what seeds have been planted, and what needs to be nurtured. It's a call to pause, look at your impending transformation, and still keep moving forward.

Card #8, Holding Together, Focus line 5: This month holds the energy of "finding your tribe", of coming together to create a bond that will allow everyone to move in harmony. No longer is it cool for the "me first" attitude to disrupt the whole. Perhaps it's time for you to step up and become the glue that holds the group together!

Card #12, Standstill, Focus line 3: With all of the Yin Earth in the cards, it can feel like the Dust Bowl in the 1930's in the middle of America; clouds of fine dust clogging things up, making it difficult to see and even breathe at times. Back then, people had to retreat inside. This is time to turn inwards, to pretend that you are in a cozy retreat as you contemplate, create, and nourish your sense of well-being.
Best days for May: 5/8, 9, 13, 20, 21, 25, 6/1, 6/2 Clash days (where friction can bring progress): 5/10, 11, 22, 23, 6/3, 6/4 Good days to get noticed: 5/5, 17, 29
