Episode 20 - Sterrett on Wargaming

Special guest Dr. James Sterrett, Deputy Director in the Directorate of Simulation Education at CGSC, joins Dr. Jonathan Abel to discuss the history and importance of wargaming. They begin with a discussion of the origins of wargaming in the Prusso-German system. They turn to the purpose of wargaming and why it's such an important part of officer education. They also discuss the practice of wargaming in professional military education, particularly in cultivating decision making and strategic thinking.
