Most of the doctors interviewed really understand what sugar is doing for us. A few are stuck in the dietary guidelines of the ‘90s but those are few are far enough between that they can be ignored.
My elbow

The knowledge imparted makes me feel as if I was invited to a postgraduate lecture, but I feel as welcome and comfortable as if the conversation was in my own living room. The scope varies from episode to episode, but certain priorities and convictions consistently are reinforced. The Food Junkies podcast is a good ally if you’ve been “bullied” by your own elbow (that unreliable joint which connects your hand to your mouth). I say that as one who struggles at how insensible I can be around food, forgetting nutrition and sustenance in favor of compulsion. How grateful I am for Dr Tarman, Clarissa, and Molly who serve thru encouragement, education, and truthfulness. Abstaining from sugar for six months so far this year has granted objective relief, plus room to work on other relevant character goals.

Thank you so much for this great podcast. As a food addict in recovery I truly cannot put into words how impactful and meaningful this podcast is to me. There is something so powerful about being validated by medical professionals in the field. Especially because for so long and still to this day food addiction is not taken as seriously as other addictions. I have almost lost my life to this illness multiple times. I feel seen and like this was not all in my head. And most importantly that I am not alone. 12 step recovery is crucial to me. But like I said there is something about hearing medical/mental health professionals that adds an extra layer of validation.
