Episode 28-"The Uncontrollable Child" w/ Matis Miller, LCSW

Therapized

Matis Miller is founder of The Center for CBT of New Jersey and author of forthcoming, The Uncontrollable Child.  Matis specializes in several emotional and personality disorders, complex childhood trauma, and anxiety in teens and adults. He is a seasoned lecturer on CBT- and DBT-related topics, addressing parents, clients, and professionals, and is presently focused primarily on supervision, education, and consultations.

The Uncontrollable Child provides skills-based techniques with practical DBT strategies and examples of how to care for, fully accept, and authentically raise kids who are emotionally sensitive...it's about parenting children to be  autonomous outside of ourselves, rather than treating them like property.  As a father of six, Matis would love to talk about why tending to children with extra emotional needs is really important right now, what it looks like to live with "uncontrollable" children, and skills-based parenting for raising authentic children post 2020.
